Young Americans for Liberty
Recently I have had a few of conversations with people locally, and read a few news stories pertaining to a group called Young Americans for Liberty. YAL is a campus organization that recruits students to the principles of liberty, economic freedom, individual rights, etc. However this is not a regular college political group where the DFL or GOP uses the students to advance their agendas, or sits around and simply discusses issues and takes no action. As a chapter leader I can tell you that YAL is an action oriented group, dedicated to implementing freedom.
Justin Amash
I think I may have a new favorite Congressman, which is saying something being that there are about five Reps, and Senators total, that I actually care for. His name is Justin Amash, a freshmen congressman whom represents the 3rd district of Michigan. Rep. Amash has managed to score a considerable amount of national media for his short time in office so far, he has done this by leading the way on government transparency.
Times up on Libya Mr. President
The 60 day limit granted to the executive by the 1973 War Powers Act allowing the President to engage in military action without congressional approval has expired. Not that I am a big fan of this Act to be begin with but I do believe that government should act within the existing laws of the land, something that the President has clearly not done.
Mission Accomplished
As most of you have probably heard we have finally killed Osama Bin laden. This is truly a great day for America. It has been ten years since we entered Afghanistan and our men and women have worked very hard to make this happen. This man committed horrible acts upon America, and people in the Middle East but he is finally done.
Time to rethink Donald Trump
Recently Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky called out Donald Trump for perhaps not being the conservative Republican he claims to be. Poking fun at his birther conspiracy Rand stated; “I’ve come to New Hampshire today because I’m very concerned,” Paul said. “I want to see the original long-form certificate, with embossed seal, of Donald Trump’s Republican registration.”[1]
