The thesis of this brief essay posits the vexing possibility that:

AMERICA MAY NOT REMAIN A FREE NATION

because history knows of no country that has withstood the destruction or even the diminution, over time, of the political, economic, educational, military, religious and social elements of ordered society.

And it is precisely the panorama of these specific societal factors that are under challenge in America today - and throughout the whole of Western world civilization - not only by introduction and internal support of alien ideologies and foreign philosophies but by our own default decisions and wishful thinking.

Following are thumbnail sketches of the status and problems with each of these elements in contemporary American society as well as Western world thinking:

Politically - The corruption of the electoral process is replete with shocking

examples. Voter fraud is rampant and growing. Lies, deceit,

deception and disinformation are disseminated by complicit media

Economically - The currency of America has been debauched by undisciplined

fiscal policies as witnessed by the downgrading of the dollar by
one of the venerable financial rating agencies

Educationally - "Dumbing Down" - the unfortunate but all-too-often accurate

slang language description of the education process and content
to which many of America's youth are exposed. Demonstrably
the education received by students of many other nations -

smaller or larger or richer or poorer - than America - far exceeds
that of the domestic scene

Militarily - Once America's arsenal of military strength was so superior that no

rogue nation would venture to offer a challenge to our defense and

peace-keeping posture and ability. However, that lofty status is now
under challenge and sometimes superseded by nations that are

neither free nor diplomatically friendly

Religiously - The faith status of this once self-proclaimed "Christian Nation" is
cast aside by court decisions and by the resurgence of ancient
paganism and historic religious foes aided by the design and by the

default of internal deterioration

Socially - Moral suasion and social sanction have given way - and been replaced -

with a pervasive social attitude of "anything goes" where conduct has no
consequences
